Description

Imported Japanese Koi

Marushin nisai Ginrin Koromo, 42cm female, picked from this fall’s ikeage and sold with her breeder certificate. The head Hi sits back behind the eyes and leaves a clean white nose, then the pattern breaks into separate plates: a broad shoulder plate, a smaller step on the left side, a short piece along the right of the dorsal, and a last plate in front of the tail. The koromo shows as a dark net over each scale inside the Hi and stays off the white. Ginrin gives the white along the back a soft sparkle. Koromo tends to keep darkening with age, so this is one to watch develop.
